Luckily Kat had something to relate Roald Dahl to, as the writer of the screenplay of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which is her favourite film/story/set of songs. She enjoyed trying on these clothes, similar to one from Dahl's school days, and wanted her toy mouse to be wearing a "Mr Potts hat" too.

One of the installations that most enthralled us both was the Minpins wall. You tell stories to the Minpins and bubbles float up into the sky. Our Kat has no trouble telling stories (as well as some tall tales) and I got her started about her toy mouse climbing a mountain. She carried on, as you can just about make out, and as she related his adventures, orange bubbles floated up and up.

I'm stunned by the originality that our three year old is creating, through stories, conversations and songs. I'm sure it's a general thing for children this age, but I didn't think it would start so young. I'm half tempted to record and write down some of her stories for you, they're really gripping. This spontaneous trip to the Roald Dahl Museum has been inspirational for her and me!
